Five for Friday...more favorite products under five bucks!

Good morning glaminionistas (not sure if that is even a word but oh well, my blog, my rules!)! I am desperately trying to keep up with my blog, but like everything else in my life, I am in the WEEDS! I finally broke down and ordered our Christmas cards, ordered some Christmas gifts, and am slowly catching up with life. I am trying to convince my hubby that Santa needs to bring me a cleaning lady, but yeah don't think that is happening anytime soon. Oh well, guess I will just have to drink more coffee, like I even need an excuse for that! Moving on to more exciting things, lets talk makeup! My five for Friday is back in full force, because who doesn't love a great deal?
1. The ELF Angled Eyeliner Brush If you are looking to achieve that perfect winged cat liner, then look no further! This brush is amazing for giving you a perfectly lined eye, and when paired with Elf Cream Eyeliner it is perfection. Bonus, it is only $3 and is more durable than my angled liner brush that I spent $$$$ from Sephora. Trust me, its amazeballs!
2. Vaseline Rosy Lips Not going to lie here, I was drawn to this product by the cutesy packaging and because it was pink. I am a total marketers dream I know! I love this product for keeping my lips moisturized and offers a pop of color. This would make a great stocking stuffer!
3. Elf Cream Liner As mentioned above, this when applied with the elf angled brush is fabulous! Cream eyeliners have so many awesome benefits and are so much easier and less messy than liquid liners. Good stuff and only $3!
4.NYX Butter Gloss This gloss is awesome! Comes in more than twelve gorgeous shades (Crème Brule is my fave!) and of course it goes on like BUTTAH! I g
5. Maybelline Great Lash This mascara has been around for years, and that because it is awesome! I love the fact that it comes in so many different formulas and colors. I personally use this for my kit and it has yet to disappoint! Hope you all have a great weekend! Santa if you are reading this, I have been a really girl (wink wink) :) xoxo Carrie

Bridal Beauty Prep Seminar at LeSalon

A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of teaming up with the ladies at LeSalon in hosting a Bridal Beauty Prep Seminar. The goal in this seminar was to help educate brides in the timeline of there beauty prep up to six months before the big day. Topics such as when to book your makeup artist (at least 6 months before your big day), though I recommend even up to a year before if you are getting married in prime wedding season which is typically May through October. I even currently have brides booked into 2015!

Other topics I touched on were:

-Spray Tans: Best if done 48 hours prior, to ensure that your color has set and you have time to shower. I encourage getting sprayed by a person rather than a machine to ensure that you get all the nooks and crannies covered and avoid scary orange hand and feet. Also, if getting a spray tan, make sure to do a trial run (preferably close to your makeup trial) so you can achieve the color that you would like to be on your wedding day.

-Waxing: Best if done at minimum 5 days before your date, to eliminate the chance of any irritation or allergic reactions.

-Makeup Trial/Hair Trial: I recommend 4 to 6 weeks before the date, and try to schedule these on the same day so that way you can get a preview of your entire look together. Make sure your hair is the color, length, that you want it to be as well as your skin the shade that you want to ensure smooth and effective trials.

Keep an eye for more Beauty Seminars at LeSalon ! Also, if your are looking to say yes to the dress, stop in and see Eryn at LeSalon. They have an amazing selection of designer gowns and there bridal concierge is second to none!

Five for Friday...my 5 favorite products under 5 bucks!

Happy November! Seriously, is it just me or to October go super fast? It was an awesome month in Sta-Glam land. I was honored to be a part of eight gorgeous wedding parties and had a blast glamming them all up. I plan on sharing some of their gorgeous faces in a future post.

Moving along, lets get to the real scoop! I have been dying to share some of my favorite products under five bucks. I totally realize that not everyone wants to drop the big bucks when building their own personal makeup stash. I totally get it! I do love me some Urban Decay, Lorac, and Mac, but believe me I am no stranger to the drugstore brands. Lucky for you, I'm a small town girl at heart  who loves her a great deal!

.

1. ELF mascara shield

Elf makes an awesome little mascara shield majiggy! It is amazing and I use it on all my clients. Totally helps you maximize your lash volume and definition while protecting your pretty eye shadow from mascara bleeding to the top of your lids.

2. Aquaphor Lip Repair

If you have kids, you probably already have this stuff at your house. It is an awesome multi purpose product that cures all things from dry lips to diaper rash. I even slather this on my face at night in hopes of preventing the curse of aging!

3. Conair teasing brush

Meet the love of my life (next to my family of course!). I cannot say enough amazing things about this brush, I use this thing every day, and get severe anxiety when my toddler decides to hide it from me. Seriously though, it is a must have if you love big hair as much as I do. You can "tease it to Jesus" with this thing!

4. Target makeup remover towelettes

I love that all my products are long lasting, but they can be a pain to get off when it is time to go to bed. These things are awesome for getting all that gunk off your eyes, face, etc. and it also helps your from ruining your washcloths.

5. Wet n' Wild Megalast lip gloss

The name says it all, its lasts and lasts and lasts! This products offers great colors, a semi matte finish and are under 3 bucks! Great addition to any kit!

Have a great weekend everyone!

xoxo

Makeup 101 Classes

Good morning! Did you all miss me? I been super crazy busy glamming up beauties and have been mentally blogging along the way, which would be great if you could read my mind, right? I have a million things I want to write about but narrowed it down to breaking down the components of my newly added service, Make up 101 Classes!

Still using those eye shadow applicators that come with your drug store shadows? QUICK toss those suckers to the curb! Putting foundation on with your good old bare hands, STOP that too! Going to be bed with your makeup still on? NOOOO, if your skin could talk it would say, "STOP SUFFOCATIG ME SILLY GIRL!" Spending loads of money on the latest trends of products from Sephora and you haven't a clue to where to start, your bank account (and hubby!) will thank me as well.

No worries, this is where I come in and is one of the main reasons I decided to offer this service. Makeup 101 classes consist of a personal session with me, where I go over all the basics of makeup tools, products, tips, tricks, etc. I include some basic brushes and samples to get you started, because to me using the proper brushes is far more important than products. You don't put mayo on your sandwich with a fork do you?! Exactly my point.

Also, I encourage you to bring your own products to these classes so I can analyze the products you already use, show you how to use them, and suggest products based upon what you already have and the look that you are want to achieve. Lucky for you, I have already wasted tons of $$$$  (shhh...don't tell my hubby!) on products that I like, love, and some that quite frankly are good for nothing more than handing down to my five year old daughter. I show you looks that are great for day or night, or if you are like me a look that can take you to from the gym to kindergarten pick up!

Good morning and welcome to my first official blog post! I plan on making my blog a place where I review my products, looks and recent clients.

First I will start with my gorgeous client Emily who I had the pleasure of glamming up for her senior photo shoot. Emily had flawless skin and gorgeous blue eyes with so I chose a very natural glowing look for her.

Primer: Sephora CC Cream

Foundation: Temptu Airbrush

Blush: Nars Orgasm

Highlight/Contouring: Naked Flushed (my fave!!!)

Eyebrows: Lightly filled in with a brown Stila shadow with my angled brush.

Bottom Eyeliner: Elf cream eyeliner in Coffee

Eyes: First, I primed the lids with Urban Decay's primer potion in Sin. I applied Half baked from Urban Decay's Naked Palette (can also be found in Naked 2) on the lid and in the waterline. Next, I used a bronze color from Sonia Kashuk and lastly applied minimal blackout from Urban Decay Naked 2 in the corners and blended into the crease as well. I finished the eyes off lining the top with Makeup Forever's aqua liner in black and coated the lashes with L'oreal's Double Extend Mascera.

Setting Spray: Urban Decay's De-Slick oil control setting spray

Lips: NYX sponge cake

*Special thanks to Cyndi Capouch Photoography for this beautiful image!

Have a glamorous weekend everyone! I will be busy glamming up the beautiful Karlee and her bridal party tomorrow in LaPorte :)
